The Horseshoe Crab is a unique, chelicerate species related to spiders and mites. It is greenish brown to light tan and can grow up to 12 inches in diameter, with females growing larger than males. They are efficient scavengers and excellent for aerating and maintaining sand beds in saltwater aquaria.
